One of the really wonderful things about London I find is that there’s always some little gem just around the corner if you’re willing to look. Neal’s Yard in the Covent Garden area of London is one such place. I was lucky that I had seen a photo of it online months and months prior to my trip. So when the time arrived for me to jet set across the pond, I recalled the Yard.
Places to Eat in Covent Garden
Having landed at Heathrow without sleeping a wink on the plane, I was looking for something to keep me awake, and something to eat. One of the best places to eat in Covent Garden is Wild Food Cafe in Neal’s Yard. It is a lovely vegan cafe. I’m not vegan by any means, but I do like to try different things. The Wild Food Cafe had a great selection and the staff was kind. About three songs in, I realized they were playing the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack. Bonus points!
What’s so beautiful about Neal’s Yard is all the multi-colored buildings. It’s like some odd mix of Sesame Street colors, but they fit together so well that I don’t even mind. Neal’s Yard isn’t super hard to find but I would advise checking it out on a map or GPS prior to walking there as it’s not super easy to find either. Covent Garden was but a short walk from where I was staying at YHA Oxford Street. The YHA Oxford Street location is perfectly centrally located in London. Making it easy to walk to places like Neal’s Yard and other little gems.
