The name “25hours” playfully suggests they offer more than the standard 24 hours of service.

Location & Nearby Attractions

Copenhagen’s 25hours Hotel Indre By is situated in a 19th-century building that was formerly a porcelain factory and a university.

Located in the center of Copenhagen, in the Indre By district, the hotel is just around the corner from the lively shopping street Købmagergade and numerous restaurants, cafés, and bars.

It’s the perfect place to stay, especially for first-time visitors to the city, as it’s in a prime location within walking distance to the main popular attractions.

From Copenhagen Airport, my travel buddy and I took the tram, which was a straight shot from the airport terminal to Nørreport, a central hub for trains, metro lines, and buses.

You can see on this Metro map of Copenhagen just how central that stop is. We bought tickets at the airport and hopped on the M2, before debarking at Nørreport and doing a short 7-minute walk to the hotel.

Because of this prime location, there are tons of public transportation options available, in addition to the metro, such as buses and trains. We didn’t use the bus, but we did hop on the train to visit castles outside of Copenhagen.

We also walked to many of the main attractions, such as:

My Experience at the 25hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen

First Impressions & Check-In Experience

My travel companion and I arrived a bit late from Prague, so we got to the hotel by evening.

As female travelers, the area around the hotel felt extremely safe, even as we walked in the dark to the hotel, thanks to the well-lit streets.

Check-in was simple, and we were greeted warmly before heading to our room.

As we were staying in Copenhagen over my birthday, I received a lovely birthday surprise upon entering: a card from the hotel and some candy!

Room Types

25hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen offers 243 unique rooms, ranging from the Medium Single, perfect for solo travelers, to the Gigantic, which features a separate living and sleeping area and enough space for an extra bed, comfortably accommodating up to three adults.

The 243 hotel rooms are available in two distinct styles: “Passion” and “Knowledge”, with some featuring terraces that offer direct access to the Secret Garden.

Our room was a ‘Medium’ which overlooked the Secret Garden.

It was 22 – 26 sqm (236 – 279 sq ft) and featured a queen-size bed, which was perfect for the two of us.

Rooms feature two distinct styles that play on the theme of growing up, and ours certainly fell into the Knowledge category as it was very science and math themed. I kept having the ‘Big Bang Theory’ song stuck in my head when glancing around the room!

As a nerd, I loved the quirky theme! It was super fun and definitely unique!

There was tons of space to spread out and relax. My travel companion worked a bit while we were there, and she comfortably took work calls from the table and chairs at the end of the bed.

The complimentary mini-bar and canvas bag were a nice touch, and the old-school rotary phone worked!

Something I think a lot of hotels miss the mark on is providing information, so I super appreciated the informative details about when places in the hotel were open and what was available to us.

However, what really made me laugh were their hilarious marketing materials. The signs to clean the room or do not disturb were a particular highlight for me. I loved flipping through them to see all the choices! I was cackling!

Overall, the room was clean, quiet, spacious, well-decorated, and comfortable.

Design & Atmosphere

Overall, it’s tough not to take notice of the incredible design of the 25hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen.

They have expertly executed their concept everywhere, from the hotel bars to the hallways.

Danish elements are seen throughout, and the atmosphere in the common areas is welcoming and vivacious!

There are also several Instagram-worthy spots within the hotel, my favorite of which was undoubtedly the book spiral, which is just in front of the reception desk.

However, there are several hidden gems throughout, such as the Vinyl Room, the 25h things shop, rendezvous (which quickly became one of our favorite bars), and the Assembly Hall, which invites guests and locals to socialize.

Dining & Drink Options

On our first night, we were a bit peckish by the time we arrived and wanted something nearby, as well as a drink to celebrate my birthday!

I’m thrilled we decided to check out rendezvous, a wonderfully fun cocktail bar located at the front of the hotel. We had a smashing good time trying out their wacky-themed drinks!

As a fan of pop-up bars, I was particularly entertained by the naming of their cocktails.

Their team of professional bartenders walks you through their menu of signature cocktails, fine spirits, vermouths, and classics, but for a real treat, get something off the special menu created by the guest bartender.

I started with the ‘Daddy Issues’ cocktail, partly because of the Princess Leia and Darth Vader image next to it! It wound up arriving with a heart tattoo that says ‘Sugar Daddy.’ I thought it was hilarious, and the drink was super tasty!

I then ordered the ‘Dirty Dancing’ cocktail. I didn’t love it as much as ‘Daddy Issues,’ but it was still fun to try.

We also got some snacks, including popcorn and a charcuterie board, which was plenty to satisfy our hunger.

Assembly Hall

The Assembly Hall, once a university hub where lecturers and students gathered, is now an excellent place to grab some coffee, snacks, or drinks.

My travel companion and I sat here, enjoying a few espresso martinis while playing a round of card games whenever we wanted to simply sit and relax.

It’s centrally located in the hotel; you have to pass it to get to almost any section of the building, so it’s a wonderful place to people-watch and hang out at any time of day.

NENI

NENI is where they host breakfast, but you can also visit in the afternoon or evening for lunch or dinner.

I really enjoyed the breakfast at the 25hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen.

There were tons of options available to eat, and it was fantastic to be able to order an omelette or something fresh from the kitchen.

On the day of my birthday, we started here with mimosas, which was a real treat.

The staff here were also very attentive. I went to get a cappuccino from the machine, and it wasn’t taking my order. Quickly, someone approached and changed the filter so it began to work again.

As for dinner, my travel companion and I weren’t blown away, but it was okay.

NENI is a family-run restaurant that combines traditional Middle Eastern cuisine with a modern flair that invites everyone to taste a bit of everything.

We weren’t super hungry, so we got something to split.

If I recall correctly, we got the NENI’s homemade hummus plate. However, it did not come with enough pita for a plate of hummus, so we wound up having to ask for extra pita, which was an additional charge. It’s always kind of a bummer when dishes aren’t properly proportioned, especially something like hummus that you’re doubtfully eating by itself.

The Event Calendar

One of the unique things about the 25hours Hotels is their commitment to community.

They host concerts, readings, and classes for yoga, cooking, pottery, and much more.

Their website states, “At 25hours, there is always something going on.” However, when I was there. I didn’t see any events on their calendar.

Even as I write this, their events page says, “Sorry, no events found.”

Kind of a bummer I didn’t get to experience at least some sort of event there, but I’d be keen to return and hopefully be there again when they do have something scheduled.

Facilities & Amenities

Sauna & Gym

Before heading to the sauna, you can visit the reception or call them to collect your sauna kit. I loved this bit of luxury!

The kit includes a robe, slippers, and a towel.

Then head to the wellbeing area, where you’ll find lockers to secure your valuables before working out or relaxing. Additionally, a set of showers is available if needed.

The gym features a fitness studio equipped with TechnoGym gear, yoga mats, and dumbbells.

If you’re like me and you’re already walking 10 miles a day while exploring Copenhagen, you probably don’t need workout equipment.

However, I did love the outdoor sauna and lounge chairs that were placed indoors and outdoors. Copenhagen can get a bit chilly, so having the option to lounge in either area was lovely.

They also had a nice area where you could get some ice-cold water or hot water for tea.

There was also a barrel-shaped item outside, which I’m fairly certain is intended for ice baths.

Meeting & Co-working Spaces

Between the Assembly Hall and Reception, I saw several rooms where people were having meetings or co-working. There are also official meeting rooms that can be rented out if needed.

Bicycle Rental

While I’m not much for a biker, which you’d know from my post on how to find the perfect travel companion, Copenhagen is perfect for cycling.

The hotel offers Schindelhauer urban bikes for exploring the city, available in classic or e-bike models, along with a curated map of charming routes crafted by bike experts for 25hours guests.

They also have a bike tire pump, should you start to feel a little low.

25h Things Shop

I’m not used to seeing shops inside of hotels, nonetheless ones with hilarious and unusual offerings!

Boasting curated local products, such as postcards of Denmark, lotions, candles, tote bags, candy, and gag gifts, you’re sure to find something that tickles your fancy here.

I liked just walking through and seeing all the goofy gifts!

Secret Garden

As our room looked out over the Secret Garden, which was actively being redesigned, we didn’t spend a lot of time here. However, I can see it being a wonderful place to hang out on a warm, sunny day, as it is a peaceful area.

Some of the rooms even have doors that lead out to it.

Wi-fi Connectivity

As I was working on this blog while visiting Copenhagen, I really put their internet to the test when uploading a lot of photo and video files.

Even though I uploaded around 400 items, it only took about an hour while I sipped an espresso martini in the Assembly Hall.

I would highly recommend working for their hotel if you’re a digital nomad or remote worker.

Service Quality & Staff

I found the service at the 25hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen to be excellent!

Anytime I had a concern, there was someone at the desk to help. Even when I accidentally requested a bagged breakfast outside the required time, they were kind enough to arrange it and call our room to confirm.

They even helped my cousin out by making sure the birthday cake she surprised me with was delivered to my room! It was a real shock to suddenly have a box with plates and silverware appear when I had no idea how they even knew it was my birthday.

Clearly, they found out when my cousin reached out, but I thought it a super sweet gesture on her part and appreciated the room surprise, especially! The cake was DELICIOUS by the way!

Value for Money

Do I feel it was worth staying at the 25hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen? Yes!

It is truly a unique experience for those seeking a vivacious and funky experience.

Budget travelers will find more economical options in Copenhagen, especially if they look outside the central part of the city. However, those prioritizing location, fantastic drink options, quirky decor, and a fun atmosphere will find that the 25hours Hotel offers great value.

Concerns About This Copenhagen Hotel

In order to be an honest assessment, I like to address any shortcomings.

The issues I experienced while staying at the 25hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen were that the heated flooring by the shower didn’t seem to work, and that the lights had a bit of a learning curve.

There is a button next to the sink for the floor to heat up. While the light came on, we didn’t feel anything. It would have been nice to have, as stepping out of a shower onto cold tile can be a bit of a shock to the system, but it’s not the end of the world.

The lights in the room also take a bit of figuring out. By the door to the hallway is the main on and off switch. We didn’t realize this, so I kept turning it off, so getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom was a bit tricky without turning on everything.

Again, not the end of the world, just took a bit of getting used to.

I believe the 25hours Hotel Indre By is well worth booking for a trip to Copenhagen.

Not only is it a unique hotel aesthetically, but it also offers a wide range of options, including food and drink, wellness services, remote working facilities, exceptional service, and comfort.

I would highly recommend remote workers or digital nomads, in particular, for the aspect of socializing and having a fun place to stay and work.
