Park Inn By Radisson Danube Bratislava: Reviewing My Stay at This Riverfront Hotel

Due to its great location near other prominent cities such as Vienna and Budapest, its incredible array of things to do, and affordability, Bratislava has been growing in popularity as a must-see European destination.

But where should you stay in this epic city?

Having stayed at the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava while exploring this emerging European destination—experiencing everything from their spa facilities and Junior Suite accommodations to their dining options and prime Danube riverfront location steps away from major attractions and transportation—I can provide honest insights into whether this waterfront hotel delivers genuine value.

From being able to walk to Bratislava Castle and Old Town attractions to relaxing in heated pools while gazing at medieval architecture, I learned that sometimes the right accommodation can elevate your entire experience—which is exactly why I’m sharing every practical detail about whether the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava is worth choosing for your Slovak adventure.

Checking In & First Impressions

Getting to Bratislava

I came into Bratislava through the Vienna airport. I had been in Krakow just before, and flying into the Austrian airport was the easiest and most affordable option as there were few flights into Bratislava directly.

As Bratislava is just a short 45-minute bus ride from the airport, it was super convenient, especially as the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava is directly across the street from the bus stop, Most SNP!

I used Omio to book my bus to Bratislava and my return to the airport before I departed for Dublin, Ireland.

Arriving at this Riverfront Hotel

Just a walk across the street and I was at the hotel after being dropped off by the bus.

Sitting on the Danube, this riverfront accommodation is so central, you can’t even fathom how convenient it is.

I entered the building just before check-in time and was warmly greeted by the hotel staff.

I was explained that the wellness facilities were complimentary, about their dining options, and how to find my room.

I then took the nearby elevator and arrived at my Junior Suite, which looked eastward over the Danube.

Room Quality

The Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava has 240 rooms, each featuring modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, an LED TV, an in-room safe, a mini-fridge, and climate control.

The Junior Suite

I was thrilled to see just how much space the Junior Suite has!

It was so spacious that I could very comfortably spread out and also set up a dedicated area to work. I had some blogger meetings while I was in Bratislava, so this was especially wonderful since I didn’t have to worry about being cramped or concerned about how the background behind me would look.

One of my favorite things about the room was the color-changing headboard. I shifted it according to the time of day and my mood.

There was also a closet where you could hang up clothes. Inside, there is also an ironing board and an iron.

There was also a kettle to brew tea or instant coffee, as well as mugs and glasses.

The Bathroom

The bathroom was also rather spacious, which allowed me to store all my travel toiletries on the counter. They had a hairdryer, body lotion, soap, and complimentary items such as a comb, a vanity set, and a shower cap.

I also appreciated that the shower and sink areas are separate from the toilet. That meant if someone wants to take a shower, they aren’t monopolizing the bathroom entirely.

While the shower was nice, what I loved most about this bathroom was the shampoo and conditioner!

My hair hasn’t been this soft in a while! I’ve been traveling with my solid shampoo and conditioner bar which works just fine, and I have had the chance to use some shampoo at other hotels, but nothing has come close to what the Park Inn’s did for my hair.

Honestly, if they sold this shampoo and conditioner, I’d buy it!

Overall, I found the entire Junior Suite to be very clean and comfortable, which allowed me to wake up well-rested and ready to explore Bratislava.

Dining Options

Breakfast Buffet

For €15, guests of the hotel can get access to the breakfast buffet.

Hosted in their 600-square-meter on-site restaurant, I found their breakfast to be a pretty good deal for the money.

There were plenty of options to choose from, as well as tons of space to sit.

I got myself a cappuccino from their machine, and then a plate of eggs, hash browns, grilled vegetables, and bacon. I also got a bowl of yogurt with some granola.

While the food wasn’t pipping hot, it was still very warm and tasted good.

Bocca Buona

One of the nights I stayed at the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava, I went to their on-site restaurant, Bocca Buona, which is an Italian eatery.

They offer classics ranging from assorted antipasti to pasta and pizzas.

I arrived just before 8 pm on a weekday, and was told they were closing soon.

It’s a bit strange since the website says they are open till 9 pm, but I told them I could be out by 8 pm, which is when they said they were closing the kitchen.

This made me feel a bit rushed, but as I wanted to try their restaurant and it was my last night, I didn’t really have an option.

I may have enjoyed it more if I had been more relaxed, but as I hurried to choose an entree and then eat it, I was overwhelmed. The food in general was okay, but nothing to write home about.

If anything, I’d recommend one of the other restaurants nearby in Old Town, such as:

• Le Papillon Slovak Fusion Restaurant – A Slovak fusion restaurant that combines traditional dishes with contemporary influences
• IASAI – Serves large soups and small tapas-style Asian-inspired dishes. I adore their sushi!
• Baudelaire Bar – Not the most amazing food selection, but the vibe and drinks are fun

Bar and Club

I didn’t explore the bar and club on-site of the hotel, but I’d be remiss not to mention them.

The only reason I didn’t find myself compelled to visit the bar is because I saw people smoking hookah in there, and that’s just not my vibe.

However, aside from the Baudelaire Bar, I LOVED the other Radisson hotel bar, the Mirror Bar, which is located in the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel, just a block down from the Park Inn.

It’s listed as one of the World’s 50 Best Bars and boasts an excellent selection of unique and tasty cocktails. It’s also hosted famous faces such as Rihanna, Elton John, Mark Twain, among others.

Wellness Facilities

Aside from grabbing a cocktail, the other way to relax at the Park Inn is by checking out their wellness experiences.

After changing into my swimsuit, I headed to the spa area and was greeted by a staff member who explained how their setup worked.

I was given a bracelet that gave me access to a cubby where I could store my belongings. I was also given a towel and a sheet to give me some privacy when changing.

There is also a bathroom and a set of showers in this area that are separated by gender.

Pool with a Castle View

Their 50 square meters of heated indoor pool offers direct views of Bratislava Castle!

I loved that the pool was heated as I’d worried it might be a tad cold, but was pleasantly surprised when I dipped my toe in to feel the warm water.

There were also plenty of lounge chairs around the pool to relax on.

Since I didn’t want to get my hair wet, I opted to just sit by the side and put my legs in to soothe them after a long day exploring Bratislava.

Sauna Options

Next to the pool is the sauna area, which offers three options—a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna, and an infrared sauna.

Please note that these areas had a sign that said no bathing suits, so no clothing is allowed.

While I was visiting Rovaniemi, Finland, I had been told that no clothing was common, but I didn’t find that to be the case, so I was a bit surprised by this.

I heard some people in the saunas, but didn’t enter as I often get overheated easily, and also felt a bit awkward about the no-clothing mandate.

However, nearby, there is a relaxing, quiet zone with comfortable beds where you can rest.

Fitness Center

Since I had been walking about 10 miles a day while here, I didn’t feel the need to use the fitness center, but it was nice that it was an option.

It was also very empty, except for one man working out, so you don’t have to fight at all to get access to a machine.

The fitness area is fully equipped and air-conditioned, and boasts more than 20 different workout machines, a designated dumbbell area, and TRX and cardio zones.

Location & Nearby Attractions

If you’re looking for a hotel near Bratislava Castle or the Danube, then Park Inn is the answer.

Not only is it super close to a main bus stop, Most SNP, but its position on the edge of Old Town and within sight of the castle makes it ideal for a stay.

From here, I walked to nearly everything in Bratislava, except Devín Castle, which I had to take a bus to since it’s about 30 minutes away. But even that, I just stepped outside the hotel to the bus stop, hopped on, and was easily whisked away to the attraction.

• St. Martin’s Cathedral – 4 minutes
• Primate’s Palace/St. Michael’s Gate/Old Town Hall – 8 minutes
• Mirbach Palace – 9 minutes
• Blue Church – 15 minutes
• Bratislava Castle – 16 minutes

Value for Money Assessment

Do I feel it was worth it to stay at the Park Inn? Yes!

Budget travelers may find more economical options throughout Bratislava, but those prioritizing location, spa facilities, epic views, and spacious rooms with wonderful amenities will discover that the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava, offers great value.

1. Location: Its unbeatable central location justifies a higher rate compared to properties in outlying areas, which may lead travelers to spend more on transportation or take up travel time.
2. Spa Facilities: I’ve stayed at several places that claim ‘spa amenities’ but never experienced a place that truly delivers on that until Park Inn. You could spend a whole day here if you wanted to, going between the saunas, pool, and workout rooms.
3. Epic Views: Not only does the pool have a view of the castle, but some of the rooms do as well. You can, of course, also get a room with a view of the Danube, as I had.
4. Spacious Rooms: I was traveling alone, so the Junior Suite had more than enough room for me. However, even if I had been traveling with another person, we still would have had loads of room.

Those who are part of the Radisson Rewards program will also benefit from staying at this property. I signed up at dinner and got a discount on my meal.

Concerns About This Bratislava Hotel

To be an honest assessment, I like to address any shortcomings during my stay.

• The body lotion in my bathroom didn’t pump. In fairness, I forgot to ask them to fix it, and I feel based on how helpful they were with other stuff, they would have
• I could hear the club below a little bit sometimes, but it wasn’t so disturbing that I couldn’t sleep; however, if I were on a lower floor, I could see how it might be an issue
• For some reason, the bracelet I was given for the spa opened another locker when I went to collect my belongings. However, the staff member quickly helped me access the correct cubby to get my stuff
• The windows in the pool were a little dirty, which I feel distracted from the otherwise lovely view of Bratislava Castle
• Being rushed out of Bocca Buona wasn’t super fun, but I could have left and gone elsewhere. However, I find it strange that they told me they close at 8 pm when their website states 9 pm

Final Thoughts on the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava

So, is Park Inn Bratislava worth it?

I believe it is worth it mainly because of the location. Of all the things I mentioned in this Park Inn Bratislava review, the location helped me get the most out of this extraordinary city.

The spacious rooms and being a Danube riverfront hotel were also nice, but as a solo female traveler, who likes to see a lot in a short amount of time, the convenience of location was paramount to me.

Speaking of being solo, I also felt very safe at this hotel.

I’m not a big spa fan, so that was less important to me personally, but I can see it being a huge bonus for those looking to slow down a bit and relax.
